Prior to being accepted, the Johnson family was living in a small apartment with several concerns for their family, such as mold, insects, and most importantly unsafe neighborhood. Safety was a major concern for the family, as they have a young daughter. The family wanted a safe place for their daughter to play and grow up and not have to worry about busy streets or drug activity.
This is what led the Johnson family to apply for Habitat’s Homeownership Program. The family has overcome many hardships in life and they are excited for the opportunity and responsibility of buying and owning their own home.

Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
